Annual CV Update
The Medical School requires all faculty to update their CV once annually (usually in January – March). These CVs are shared with and used by the Dean, Dr. Igarashi, and other Department leadership throughout the year, so it is important they are up to date. Updates to CVs should include presentations, publications, grants and funding sources, awards/honors, etc. that the faculty member has accomplished in the past year. Updated CVs must be in Medical School format (link below). CVs are uploaded by administrative staff to a Google Drive folder. OFAD initiates this project via an email to the Division Administrators with specific instructions.
Annual Appraisals
Each Medical School department must submit annual appraisals for all full-time faculty members. Please note: The Medical School does not require that departments conduct appraisals for part-time, without-salary or UMP-only faculty.
- Probationary (tenure-track) faculty: require a Goals & Activities form, a Summary of Annual Faculty Evaluation (SAFE form), and an Appraisal of Probationary Faculty (Form 12)
- Non-tenure-track faculty: require a Goals & Activities form and a Summary of Annual Faculty Evaluation (SAFE form)
The deadline for submission to OFAD is May 301st.

Mentoring
At least once annually, Assistant Professors also meet with one or more members of a Mentoring Committee, convened by either the Department or Division.
Mentoring Committees give Assistant Professors the opportunity to discuss their work (accomplishments, challenges) with a broader range of faculty, often from different divisions and areas of expertise. Before the meeting, mentees are encouraged to identify priority topics for discussion. They also provide an updated CV and complete an online Individual Development Plan.
