Biography Summary

Dr. Stefan Bertog is the co-director of the cardiac catheterization laboratory at the Minneapolis Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Minnesota and a staff cardiologist at the CardioVascular Center in Frankfurt, Germany. He is board certified in Cardiology in the US and Germany and in interventional cardiology, vascular medicine, endovascular therapy, echocardiography and hypertension in the US.

He received his medical degree (MD) from the Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz, Germany and doctoral degree from the Goethe University, Frankfurt, Germany. After his internship in Frankfurt, Germany, he completed internal medicine residency at the Cleveland Clinic, and cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology fellowships at the University of Minnesota.

Dr. Bertog has authored and co-authored numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals and book chapters. He is associate editor of the Textbook Interventions in Structural, Valvular and Congenital Heart Disease and has been the co-director of TRENDS (conference on neurohumoral modulation) and CSI (Congenital, Structural and Valvular Interventions) and invited to present research or lectures in Asia, Europe and in the US.
