Biography Summary

Dr. Vakil attended medical school at the Dr. D.Y. Patil Medical College and Research Center in Navi Mumbai, India and did his residency at the Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis, IN. He went on to the University of Washington in Seattle for a Fellowship in Advanced Heart Failure, Mechanical Circulatory Support, and Cardiac Transplantation. After that, he completed his Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Vakil is currently an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Minnesota. In addition, he works as a Staff Cardiologist and Co-Director of the Heart Failure Program at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Minneapolis.
