Advanced Cardiovascular Imaging Faculty

  • Chetan Shenoy, MBBS, is the Program Director of the Advanced Cardiovascular Imaging Fellowship. After graduating from medical school at Gandhi Medical College in India, he completed Internal Medicine Residency at Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, Pennsylvania, and fellowships in Cardiovascular Disease and Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance Imaging at Tufts Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts and Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina, respectively. His clinical and research efforts are focused on cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging, patients with cancer who have known or suspected cardiovascular disease or cardiovascular effects of cancer therapy, and patients with known or suspected cardiovascular masses, including tumors.

  • Prabhjot Nijjar, MD, did his Internal Medicine Residency at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, PA and completed a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship in Cholesterol Metabolism at the Institute for Translational Medicine and Therapeutics at the University of Pennsylvania. He then moved to Minnesota for fellowship training in Cardiovascular Disease and Advanced Cardiovascular Imaging. He is a member of the Research Working Group of the Consortium of Academic Health Centers for Integrative Medicine. Dr Nijjar’s research interests include optimal use of cardiac imaging for prevention and the interaction of meditation with cardiovascular health.

  • Suma Konety, MD, received her medical degree from Bangalore Medical College in India and completed Internal Medicine Residency at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.  She then went to University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics to complete a Cardiology Fellowship, followed by an Echocardiography and Cardiac MR Fellowship at the University of California-San Francisco.  Dr. Konety is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, and Echocardiography.  Her clinical interests are in women’s heart health and epidemiology.  She is currently the Director of the Cardio-Oncology Clinic and Medical Director of Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Services.

  • Tadashi Allen, MD, Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiology, received his medical degree from the University of California-Los Angeles Medical School and completed Diagnostic Radiology Residency at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Allen continued on at the University of Minnesota after residency to complete a Thoracoabdominal Imaging Fellowship. He is board certified in Diagnostic Radiology.

  • Bilal Ali, MD, FACC, earned his medical degree from The Aga Khan University Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan before completing his Internal Medicine Residency at Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis. After that, Dr. Ali completed two fellowships: the first in Cardiovascular Disease at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago, and the second in Noninvasive Cardiovascular Imaging at Harvard Medical School’s Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He is board certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, Echocardiography, Nuclear Cardiology, and Cardiac Computed Tomography.

  • Brian Ip, MD, FACC, earned his medical degree from the University of London in England before completing his Internal Medicine Residency at St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital in New York, NY. Dr. Ip went on to complete a Cardiology Fellowship at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, a Nuclear Cardiology Fellowship at St. Luke’s Roosevelt Hospital, and an Echocardiography Fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX. He is board certified in Cardiovascular Disease, Internal Medicine, Nuclear Cardiology, and Cardiovascular Computed Tomography.
