Summary

Dr. Samar Malaeb received her medical degree from the American University of Beirut, Lebanon. She completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Tufts University in Boston, Massachusetts (2010), then a fellowship in Endocrinology, Diabetes and Metabolism from the University of Minnesota (2013). She also earned a Masters in Nutrition Science and Policy from Tufts University’s Friedman School of Nutrition (2016). Dr. Malaeb manages a variety of Endocrine issues, with a clinical and research interest in diabetes, nutrition and weight management. Dr. Malaeb is interested in all aspects of medical education and integrating the foundational sciences with clinical practice, specifically as it relates to nutrition and healthy diets. As of February 2019, she has taken on the position of Associate Program Director of the Endocrinology Fellowship training program at the University of Minnesota Medical School. As of April 2019, she will be co-directing the Endocrine Pathophysiology course for Medical School year 2. She is vested in incorporating nutrition education in medical curricula, as well as raising awareness about the role of diet in health and disease for practicing physicians and the general public.
