Bedside Rounding on 7A

With teambuilding and improved patient-care in mind, the 7A Medical Unit requests that each Medicine Firm Attending round at the bedside for their 7A patients.  This process has been in place since January 15, 2007.

Each Firm should inform the 7A HUC or Charge Nurse by 8 a.m. of:

  • Their list of patients on 7A
  • a general idea of the anticipated time this is scheduled to occur that day
  • Where (with which patient) they will start their rounds

The 7A HUC/ Charge Nurse will:

  • Inform the Firm which nurse is assigned to these patients and will help identify that person so the Firm can update the nurse about timing.
  • Request that the assigned nurses make a concerted effort to participate in bedside rounds with the Firm team.

Your ongoing feedback about this process is critical.  We intend for this to positively impact all members of the healthcare team.  Please contact us at your earliest convenience with suggestions.
