Did you know the Department of Medicine is one of the largest departments in the University of Minnesota Medical School? Within this department, more than 360 full time faculty in 10 divisions are conducting research, educating future doctors, and caring for patients with a wide variety of diseases and conditions. The department conducts approximately 30% of the research and 25% of the educational efforts of the entire Medical School.
Our research makes a difference not only to the health of Minnesotans, but the rest of the country and the world. Because we have well-recognized, cutting-edge research programs in a variety of specialties, our department can practice comprehensive medicine both in the clinic and the laboratory.
